Atlanta—Shaw Industries Group Inc., the largest producer of carpet tile in North America, has announced the completion of a new carpet tile manufacturing facility in Adairsville, Ga. The property worth $85 million became operational in the fourth quarter of 2016 and  currently employs 170 associates. The company intends to create a total of 500 new jobs once the facility reaches full capacity.

The property will operate under the name of Shaw Plant T1 providing additional production and recycling capability for the company’s Patcraft, Philadelphia Commercial and Shaw Contract brands. The new center complements the existing carpet tile manufacturing, recycling and warehouse facilities operated by Shaw Industries in Cartersville, Georgia, and Nantong, China.  Located at the intersection of GA 140 and Hall Station Street, the property is less than two miles away from I-75.

“The addition of this state-of-the-art carpet tile manufacturing facility allows us to continue to innovate across our broad portfolio of products. We invest hundreds of millions of dollars annually in new and expanded facilities, enhanced equipment, technology and processes, and improved distribution systems to create beautiful, durable, sustainable flooring to meet our customers’ diverse needs. This is a prominent example of that commitment,” Shaw Chairman & CEO Vance Bell, said in prepared remarks.
