Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has recently announced the opening of a 135-room Aloft-branded hotel in downtown Raleigh. The hotel is owned by a joint venture between The Bernstein Cos. and Bell View Founders.
Conveniently located at 2100 Hillsborough St., Aloft Raleigh is close to some of the city’s top attractions such the North Carolina State University, the Raleigh Convention Center, the BTI Performing Arts Center, Raleigh-Durham International Airport and the leading high-tech and biotech hub Research Triangle Park.
“We are proud to bring Aloft Hotels to Raleigh as part of the Hillsborough Street rejuvenation and expect it will be a hit with travelers with its distinct design aesthetic, tech-forward mindset and live music scene at W XYZ bar,” said in prepared remarks Brian McGuinness, senior vice president, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “The popular Aloft brand recently crossed the 100th hotel milestone, propelled by its phenomenal success in key markets worldwide.”
The hotel offers a range of amenities such as an outdoor Splash pool, 24-hour gym and 1,600 square feet of flexible meeting space. The development also features two local restaurants: Gonza Tacos Y Tequila and Jubala Village Coffee. Renowned local artist Thomas Sayre designed a dramatic 55-foot sculpture to complement the cutting-edge design of Aloft Raleigh.
