Senior-focused life and health insurance marketing organization AmeriLife has marked one of the largest corporate moves this year in the Tampa Bay region by signing a new lease for the entire three-story complex formerly known as Prestige Place II. Following the signing of AmeriLife as sole tenant, the complex at 2650 McCormick Drive will be renamed AmeriLife Place.

The company is currently located at AmeriLife Towers—set at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Countryside Boulevard; plans are to move its 350 employees to the new location in March 2012. According to an official release, the company was drawn to the new complex due to its central Pinellas location, the ample parking facilities and the ability to customize the building to its needs. Another reason is AmeriLife’s plan of corporate expansion: “This is the space we’ve needed to expand our services as well as our employee base,” said AmeriLife president & CEO Timothy O. North. “AmeriLife is growing, and we need to spread our wings.”

The company considered more than 20 other locations around the Tampa Bay area before deciding on the 2650 McCormick Drive complex; its new 71,000-square-foot headquarters—built in 1987—is currently undergoing interior renovations, while also being re-imagined and remodeled for the new tenant’s use.

Alan Feldshue and Melanie Jackson of Colliers International Tampa Bay represented AmeriLife  and negotiated the 11-year lease with landlord CW Capital Asset Management, which was represented by Hans Kaunath and Judy Healey of Ciminelli Real Estate Services.
