Ashford Trust Launches New App for Hospitality REIT Investors

Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. has launched the Ashford App, a mobile app targeted toward hospitality REIT investors.

The new app, currently available on the iOS platform for the iPhone and iPad, with a version for Android smartphones to follow soon, offers users the ability to quickly and concisely get up to speed with what is happening in the hospitality REIT industry from a macro level as well as review detailed information on specific companies in the sector.

“The benefits are that investors can quickly and easily access Ashford company information including portfolio information, links to hotel websites, press releases, company presentations, etc.,” Deric Eubanks, Ashford’s senior vice president, told Commercial Property Executive. “Investors can also find useful industry research from leading research providers in the industry including HVS, STR, PWC, and PKF. Users can also find stock quotes and financial analysis for other hotel REITs.”

Ashford App users will have the ability to scan market and industry indexes, find relevant stock and financial information for hospitality REITs, and access other industry data and research. The app will also allow users to receive push notifications related to Ashford Hospitality Trust and its related companies including Ashford Hospitality Prime, Inc.

“The use of mobile technology continues to grow,” said Eubanks. “As the first app of its kind for the hospitality REIT space, we wanted to create this in an effort to provide better communication and better transparency with investors and create a resource that would be helpful to them in their research and investment decisions.”

According to Eubanks, investors are making investment decisions faster than ever and while on the go, so the need to access social media and mobile apps for relevant information on a variety of devices is vital to staying ahead.

“The Ashford App fills a gap in this speed-driven world, to inform and educate hospitality REIT investors who can now access general lodging industry statistics as well as specific information about Ashford-related companies,” Eubanks concluded. “The influence of social media continues to grow and Ashford is committed to being at the forefront of this effort to broaden communications with the investment community.”
