Athenahealth Expands Footprint in Atlanta

The health care information company has announced that it will create up to 1,000 new jobs by adding 40,000 extra square feet to the firm’s initial location.

Atlanta—Athenahealth Inc., a leading provider of network-based services and point-of-care mobile application for hospitals and ambulatory clients nationwide, has announced that it will increase its footprint at Ponce City Market in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, according to a statement made by Mayor Kasim Reed and Governor Nathan Deal.

In this expansion, Atenahealth will expand its workforce to almost 1,000 and will add 40,000 square feet of additional space to the company’s current 98,000-square-foot office. In addition to that, the adaptive reuse development project includes residential units, restaurants and retail space. This comes as the company has surpassed its three-year projected employee growth rate by roughly 40 percent in Atlanta and invested approximately $20 million in Georgia.
