Austin AT&T Hotel Expansion Completed

The property now features an additional 30,000 square feet and a 4,000-square-foot mural by Brooklyn-based artist José Parlá.

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center boasts a new 30,000-square-foot expansion. The addition consists of a 15,000-square-foot Zlotnik Family Ballroom, 5,000 square feet of pre-function space and another 10,000 square feet covering a banquet kitchen and nine meeting rooms.

The hotel now totals 80,000 square feet of event space with 53 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 1,600 people. The new addition is also part of Robert B. Rowling Hall, which serves as the new home to the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business graduate programs.

The buildout design was led by New York-based Ennead Architects and Jacobs of Dallas. The five-story space is filled with natural light, each floor featuring a unique, flexible layout and outdoor green space, including terraces and lawn areas. In addition, the property collaborated with Landmarks, commissioning a mural from the University of Texas at Austin’s art program. Created by Brooklyn-based José Parlá, the 4,000-square-foot mural is placed in the Zlotnik Family Ballroom’s pre-function space and depicts Austin’s natural environment and cityscape.

The 297-key AT&T Hotel and Conference Center is owned by the University of Texas and is located in downtown Austin, at the south entrance of the campus, between UT Tower and Texas State Capitol. It has three onsite dining options, recently renovated rooms and uses advanced technology.
