Avison Young to Lease DC Office Asset

The RMR Group has awarded Avison Young the exclusive leasing assignment of 11 Dupont Circle, a Class A office property totaling 153,000 square feet in Washington, D.C. The building will undergo a comprehensive improvement program in 2019.
Located at 11 Dupont Circle NW, in the city’s Embassy Row submarket, the nine-story asset was completed in 1974 and underwent cosmetic renovations in 2004, according to Yardi Matrix. The same data provider shows that The RMR Group acquired 11 Dupont Circle from BlackRock for $89 million, or $582 per square foot, in September 2014. The planned upgrades will feature the addition of new on-site amenities.
Principals Greg Tomasso and Eli Barnes, alongside Senior Associate Lauryn Harris, will spearhead leasing efforts. Approximately 90,000 square feet of space is available for lease at 11 Dupont Circle.
“Office tenants at 11 Dupont Circle already enjoy unsurpassed access to Washington’s transit network and service amenities. With the planned renovation, this property is sure to attract premier office and retail tenants to the iconic Dupont neighborhood,” Tomasso said in a prepared statement.
In early 2018, The RMR Group selected the same Avison Young team to oversee leasing at a 130,000-square-foot office building in Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Hill submarket. Located at 500 First St. NW, the property is LEED Gold certified and ENERGY STAR rated.
