Avison Young Welcomes New Philadelphia Principal

Wayne Hunt brings 42 years of experience to the position, with previous executive roles at Cushman & Wakefield, JLL and The Galbreath Co.

Avison Young has added Wayne Hunt as the new principal in the Philadelphia office. In his new position, Hunt will provide consultation and tenant representation services to office users in Philadelphia and Wilmington, N.C., while emphasizing needs assessment, expense alignment, corporate efficiency and strategic planning. The announcement comes at the heels of Scott Martin’s appointment as principal for the region’s medical office service sector.

Hunt brings 42 years of commercial real estate experience to the new role in such areas as agency leasing, asset management, value-add and asset repositioning, acquisitions and dispositions, development and tenant advisory services. He has participated in the structuring and negotiation of 11 million square feet of leases, sales, exchanges or repositionings worth $525 million and $200 million of development projects.

Prior to joining the company, he was a member of Tactix Real Estate Advisors in Philadelphia. He started his career in Chicago as an asset manager for Henry Crown and Co. and then as the operations manager for the Chicago Board of Trade. During his career in Philadelphia, he served as an executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, a regional manager for JLL and a regional president of The Galbreath Co. Hunt’s current and past roster of clients include MetLife, GE Capital, Christiana Care, Independence Blue Cross, Turner Construction Co., Cargill, DLA Piper and HSBC.

Hunt holds an MBA in international finance from Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in finance from University of Massachusetts.
