Berkshire Acquires 280-Unit Community in Metro Denver Area

Berkshire Partners, a Boston, Mass.-based private equity firm, has acquired Alta Aspen Grove, a 280-unit luxury garden-style apartment community in Littleton, Col., from Wood Partners LLC.
The Denver office of Moran & Co. represented Wood Partners in the sale. The sale price was not disclosed.
Located at 7317 South Platte River Parkway, Alta Aspen Grove opened in June 2011, and was designed to be eco-friendly, transit-oriented and packed with high-end amenities.
“Alta Aspen Grove is one of the finest suburban multi-family properties in Denver,” David Martin, Moran & Co.’s managing partner, said in a company statement. “It is LEED certified (first suburban multi-family deal to earn that designation in Denver) and has some of the best finishes to be found in suburban product.”
The gated community features one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes with granite countertops in kitchens and bathrooms, washer/dryers, functional cooktop island kitchens, track lighting, walk-in closets, interior crown molding, balconies, three-sided gas fireplaces and unparalleled mountain views.
Community amenities include a resort style pool and spa, outdoor lounge and fireplace, cyber cafe, and revolutionary fitness center. It also offers a pet-friendly ambiance, including an onsite dog wash and bark park.
Alta Aspen Grove is situated on 17.5 acres near the Mineral Light Rail Station, the Carson Nature Reserve and the Aspen Grove Shopping Center, offering convenient access to both active outdoor recreation and an urban lifestyle. Downtown Denver is only a 20-minute commute by car and historic downtown Littleton is just two miles from Alta Aspen Grove.
