Bitmova Bringing Data Center to Temple, TX
- Aug 22, 2017
The small city of Temple, located less than an hour north of Austin, is about to get its own data center. Bitmova LLC will build the facility and invest nearly $8 million in capital investment over five years to expand its data management capacity.
The new facility will occupy 11 acres in the Temple Industrial Park located near the intersection of IH-35 and Loop 363 in the northwestern part of the city. The project has been given a land grant in an economic development agreement approved by the Temple Economic Development Corp. (Temple EDC) board, a non-profit organization that serves as the designated economic development entity for the City of Temple. The facility will generate 56 jobs.
“Welcoming Bitmova LLC to Temple further diversifies our industry base,” Temple EDC Vice President Charley Ayres, said in a prepared statement. “Bitmova will create high wage jobs in a highly technical job, with a significant level of capital investment in our local economy.”
Bitmova plans to dedicate a portion of the data center to research and development work concerning Berberry servers and other technologies related to robotics and virtual reality. More so, the long-term vision for the facility includes an accelerator program focusing on the development of projects related to robotics.
“Temple EDC is a great partner and Temple is a fantastic location,” added Behrouz Movahhed Nouri, CEO of Bitmova. “Temple Industrial Park offers a unique opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art data center on a site that has access to low cost, reliable power, infrastructure in place, an excellent network of roads and an available skilled workforce.”
