Canada-based The Brandt Group is expanding its presence in the U.S. The company is getting ready to take over Kongskilde Industries’ 200,000-square-foot facility in Bloomington-Normal, Ill.—along with all the equipment—in a deal expected to close December 15. The investment reinforces the strength of the Chicago-area industrial market, which has attracted a growing number of out-of-state investors this past year.

The plant is located on a 40-acre lot at 19500 N. 1425 East Road on the outskirts of Normal, Ill. It can be easily reached via interstates 39 and 55.

Brandt plans to use the property to produce agricultural equipment for the American corn and soybean markets. Since the plant already has the latest tooling, including a powder-coat paint line, the company expects to begin production in the first quarter of 2018 and to bring approximately 300 jobs to the area within the next five years.
