CBRE Hires New SVP in NJ

Jonathan Meisel will bring more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate to his new role. Prior to joining the firm, he held senior-level positions at both JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.

Following John Lo’s appointment in Seattle, CBRE has selected Jonathan Meisel as its newest senior vice president for the Central New Jersey region. He has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, having focused on data centers, collocation, corporate real estate and multi-market portfolio management.

 “In his new role, Jon will be working closely with Joe Sarno and our Central New Jersey office leasing colleagues; he will also apply his industry-leading technical expertise to our local and national data center services team,” CBRE New Jersey Senior Managing Director Jeff Hipschman said in a prepared statement.

New Jersey expert

Prior to joining CBRE, Meisel served as head, market leader and founding partner of JLL’s New Jersey office since 2004. In his role, he oversaw all JLL business activity in the Tristate suburban region. Between 2008 and 2012, he also served as Broker of Record for JLL Brokerage Inc., representing corporations on all of their commercial real estate needs, assisting and representing landlords on acquisition underwriting, as well as leasing a 10 million-square-foot portfolio. From 1988 to 2004, he worked as senior vice president at Cushman & Wakefield, where he completed several hundred lease transactions, specializing in office and data center transactions while representing both local developers and major institutional landlords throughout New Jersey.

Meisel is a certified mechanical engineer and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University.
