After recently appointing retail expert Drew Schaul as senior vice president of Advisory and Transaction Services, CBRE has tapped Alex Cesar as its new vice president of Advisory and Transaction Services. He will also specialize in landlord and tenant representation and report to Senior Managing Director of CBRE South Florida, Arden Karson.

Cesar brings more than 16 years of commercial real estate experience to his new position at CBRE and has worked with both national and international retailers across the U.S. Prior to joining CBRE, he was the senior director of retail for RKF. Cesar also held the position as head of retail for JLL-Brazil, where he was in charge of all activity related to agency leasing, investment sales, tenant representation and market studies. His various clients included Nike, Skechers, KFC, Oakley, Lush Cosmetics, Vapiano and Levi’s, all of which he worked with during the companies’ Brazilian expansions. He also helped to plan and execute expansions to the U.S. for Osklen, Pompeu Bellusci, Fogo de Chão, Hack Vartanian and Porcão Steakhouse.

“We are excited to welcome Alex to our growing retail practice,” said Karson, in a prepared statement. “His vast international retail market knowledge and relationships make up a unique set of skills that will be highly complementary to our existing team. The momentum around our retail business keeps intensifying, and our clients are benefiting from the value of working with our highly experienced, senior retail professionals.”

Cesar received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and several continuing education courses in real estate such as The University of Shopping Centers at Wharton Business School. He is a member of ICSC.
