Chicago—Travelers landing in the Windy City already have a myriad of accommodation options to choose from, and the list just got longer. The long-awaited opening of the LondonHouse Chicago hotel took place Thursday, May 26, at the corner of North Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive.

Oxford Capital Group’s wholly owned affiliate Oxford Hotels & Resorts brought 452 luxury hotel rooms and suites to the former London Guarantee Building in the city’s Michigan-Wacker Historic District, along with a plethora of tech-forward amenities.

Part of Hilton Worldwide’s Curio – A Collection by Hilton brand, the new hotel is housed in a nearly 100-year old structure that anchors the Michigan Avenue Bridge alongside the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower and 333 Michigan Ave. Oxford worked closely with architecture firm Goettsch Partners and interior designers at Simeone Deary Design Group to polish both the exterior and interior of the 23-story building.

“Our entire development and operational team has worked hard over the last several years to transform this elegant and historic building into a beautiful luxury lifestyle hotel,” John Rutledge, founder, president & CEO of Oxford Capital Group and Oxford Hotels & Resorts, said in a prepared statement.

LondonHouse Chicago, located at 85 E. Wacker Drive, features a variety of upscale amenities, including: a tri-level rooftop; lobby bar; full-destination spa; 24-hour fitness center; complimentary Wi-Fi internet access; two floors of upscale retail; the Bridges Lobby Bar; and expansive meeting and event space.

“Thanks in part to distinct details, such as subtle jazz themes and custom artwork incorporated into its design, LondonHouse Chicago is a true reflection of the Windy City’s history dating back to the Roaring Twenties,” added Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president & global head at Curio – A Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton. “We’re honored to welcome this new icon in Chicago hospitality to our growing global collection, where our guests can not only enjoy that uniquely local Chicago experience just steps from the hotel, but throughout the property as well.”
