Colliers Taps Coombs to Head Northwest Operations

The veteran executive will be responsible for management, business development and recruitment in a four-state region.

Colliers International has recruited industry veteran Scott Coombs to run its Northwest office, the firm disclosed today. Coombs is moving over from the Seattle office of GVA Kidder Matthews, where he was executive vice president of brokerage.

In his new role, Coombs will be responsible for Colliers’ services in a four-state region: Washington, Oregon, Utah and Idaho. He will lead management, recruitment and business development for all service lines. In a statement announcing the selection, Dylan Taylor, CEO of Colliers’ operations in the United States, cited Coombs’ combination of managerial and transactional experience.

Joining Colliers will bring Coombs full circle professionally; he served a previous tour of duty with the firm, spending eight years as vice president and branch manager in the  Bellevue, Wash., office. That was the second stop in a 30-year real estate career that began at CB Richard Ellis Inc. Coombs’ career has also held senior positions at Harsch Investment Properties, The Koll Company, Spieker Properties, Unicco and Equity Office Properties Trust. He is a 1980 graduate of the University of Washington.
