Commercial real estate firm Flagler said today that Comcast of Greater Florida/Georgia has opened its new Jacksonville, Fla., headquarters.

Comcast has signed an 11-year, $22 million lease to occupy the 106,253-square-foot space, the largest lease by dollar volume completed in Jacksonville during 2009. The new quarters are located at the Deerwood North business park.

Comcast will occupy floors one, two, three and five at Deerwood, which totals out to 80 percent of the building’s space.

“Our central location in Jacksonville’s premiere business corridor,” Comcast Jacksonville area vice president and general manager said, “combined with our first-class surroundings and amenities will allow us to better serve the needs of our growing customer base throughout the Southeast.”

Flagler was represented by senior director of leasing Ross Carrier, while Comcast was represented by Binswanger commercial division president David Fahey.
