Corporate Residence Company Takes a Stab at South Lake Union

A joint venture between Oakwood Worldwide and Singapore-based Mapletree Group is bringing its particular brand of hospitality to Seattle’s South Lake Union. Oakwood recently released a statement announcing that it is adding a new building to its roster of corporate housing and serviced apartment facilities following the JV’s fifth acquisition.
Set to be rebranded as Oakwood Seattle South Lake Union, the 100-unit multifamily apartment complex will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with a substantial amenity package. The LEED Silver certified building offers residents a lounge area with a pool table, a shuffleboard table, dart boards and pinball machines, while the rooftop deck is fitted with barbecues and an outdoor fireplace. The amenity package is completed by a multi-screen theater/gaming den that is accessible by all residents.
Located a short drive away from both central downtown and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the new Oakwood facility is set in an area that features major employers, dining and entertainment spots. Following acquisitions in Raleigh, Dallas and Silicon Valley, this latest purchase marks the first property Oakwood owns in the Pacific Northwest.
