Newport News, Va.—Suffolk-based cybersecurity company Sera-Brynn recently opened its second office in the Hampton Roads area.

Located at 1 Old Oyster Point Rd. in Newport News, the firm’s new office sits close to Canon Virginia’s manufacturing facility, in the vicinity of the Interstate 64/ Route 171 junction. Within a 10-minute ride from Newport News International Airport and close to a plethora of residential communities and lodging options, Sera-Brynn’s new home also neighbors the Hampton Roads Academy, federal contractor Spectrum and recruiting company Aerotek.

Built in 1999, the 3-story, 60,000-square-foot 1 Old Oyster Point Rd. was bought by Towne Bank in mid-2015 for $8.4 million, official records show. The property’s last assessment estimates the asset at approximately $8.3 million.

“This new office location will help us better directly serve our Peninsula, Richmond and northern Virginia clients … We have clients all over the country and our Peninsula office will also provide an additional geographic `jumping off point’ to support our clients in the Northeast and Midwest. It just made sense from a resource allocation perspective,” Heather Engel, EVP of Sera-Brynn, said in a prepared statement. The company also announced plans to further expand later this year.
