Rockefeller Completes 187 KSF Lease in Manhattan with Mayer Brown
The Rockefeller Group has signed Mayer Brown L.L.P. to 187,000 square feet of space at 1221 Avenue of the Americas, which borders Rockefeller Center between W. 48th and 49th streets. The long-term lease covers the entire 11th through 14th floors of the 50-story office tower. CBRE Group Inc. represented Mayer Brown in the deal, while The Rockefeller Group was represented by an in-house team along with a Cushman & Wakefield Inc. brokerage team. The lease brings total new leases at 1221 Avenue of the Americas in 2013 to 282,648 square feet. New leases and renewals in the building have totaled 817,000 square feet since mid-2011.
Transwestern, Rappaport Nab Washington Harbour Assignment
Principal Real Estate Investors has selected Transwestern and The Rappaport Cos. as exclusive leasing agents for Washington Harbour’s 3000 and 3050 K St., N.W., in Washington, D.C. The two buildings total more than 550,000 square feet and include 489 covered parking spaces. 3000 K St., a 333,668-square-foot, Class A office building constructed in 1986, consists of 269,490 square feet of office space, 59,516 square feet of retail, a 2,146-square-foot fitness center and 2,516 square feet of space for storage and engineering. 3050 K St., a 227,467-square-foot Class A office building developed in 1987, consists of 170,065 square feet of office space, 13,648 square feet of retail and 18,825 square feet of townhouse and residential space.
Cassidy Turley Leases 90 KSF in St. Louis
Serco Inc. has signed on to take 90,000 square feet of office space in the former U.S. Fidelis building in St. Louis. Cassidy Turley represented the owners in the transaction, while Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. sourced the space on behalf of Serco Inc., a Virginia-based government contractor that handles applications for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The 343,000-square-foot building was the former home of U.S. Fidelis, which collapsed in 2009 amid fraud accusations.
Inland Picks JLL to Lease Dallas Shopping Centers
Jones Lang LaSalle Retail has been selected by Inland American Retail Management and Inland Diversified to lease seven shopping centers in the Dallas region. Together, the properties total more than 1 million square feet, which is 95 percent occupied. Properties include the 18,374-square-foot Cityville Oak Park in Dallas; the 97,425-square-foot Hunter’s Glen Crossing in Plano; the 90,209-square-foot Josey Oaks Crossing in Carrollton; the 233,378-square-foot Prestonwood Town Center in Dallas; the 17,510-square-foot Suncreek Village in Plano; the 350,000-square-foot Waxahachie Crossing in Waxahachie; and the 242,728-square-foot McKinney Towne Crossing in McKinney.
Cvent Fills 130 KSF in Tysons Corner
Cvent, a leading maker of event-management software, will take roughly 130,000 square feet of space at Greensboro Station, a Tysons Corner, Va., office campus. The company’s relocation to 1710 Solutions Drive from its current headquarters, only about half a mile away, is also an expansion that will see 400 employees added to the existing 450 over the next three years.
SunGard Appoints NGKF Global as CRE Advisor
SunGard Availability Services has appointed Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Global Corporate Services as its North American corporate real estate advisor. NGKF will manage real estate transactions for all of SunGard AS’s facilities, including sales offices, operations centers and data center expansions in the United States and Canada, and will also provide global lease administration. SunGard AS is a business segment of SunGard Data Systems Inc., which is headquartered in Wayne, Pa., and is a leading provider of disaster recovery services, managed IT services, information availability consulting and business continuity management software.
Chambers Street Lands 342 KSF Lease in South Carolina
Chambers Street Properties has announced a new long-term lease for 342,096 square feet at its Community Cash Complex warehouse/distribution property in Spartanburg, S.C. The 10-year lease with Rank Distributors Inc., a global sourcing service for the hospitality industry, covers two buildings in the five-building complex, which totals 552,000 square feet. The center is located 14 miles east of the South Carolina Inland Port in Greer, S.C., a new intermodal facility that offers rail and truck container transfer to the Port of Charleston.
STAG Inks 427 KSF Wisconsin Lease
STAG Industrial Inc., which focuses on single-tenant industrial properties, has signed a 427,000-square-foot lease at a warehouse and distribution property in Sun Prairie, Wis. The new tenant remains unnamed, though according to STAG the space will be filled by a major domestic catalog merchandizing company. The lease has a term that exceeds 10 years. STAG Industrial Inc. currently has a portfolio of 200 properties in 34 states with more than 35.3 million rentable square feet.
