Defense manufacturer ELTA North America has officially moved its headquarters to Annapolis Junction, Md.

The company is now occupying 21,500 square feet at 8955 Henkels Lane, just off Patuxent Freeway. With this move, ELTA is tripling its footprint from the 7,500 square feet it occupied at 11840 W Market Place in Fulton, Md., less than 10 miles away from the new headquarters.

The move, which was first announced by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan in September 2016, comes to accommodate the defense contractor’s growth. ELTA plans to add up to 50 new positions in the next couple of years, with a target of more than 100 employees by the end of 2018. “Over the past 24 months, our company has grown from zero to $250 million with cutting-edge products,” said Eric Wobble, president & CEO of ELTA North America, in prepared remarks.

The company’s new Howard County base is located roughly 20 miles southeast of Downtown Baltimore and 25 miles from central D.C., less than half a mile away from the Savage MARC Station.
