Dennis Waggner Joins Avison Young in New York

In his new role as senior director of operations, Waggner will be responsible for the operations within the tri-state region, overseeing all financial, budgeting, human resources, facilities and brokerage services operations. Based in the firm’s Manhattan office, Waggner will work with Arthur Mirante, II, Mitti Liebersohn, Jeff Heller, Sean Cahill and Ted Stratigos to grow the individual offices as well as the region, while working with the managing directors on recruitment, retention and implementing best practices.
“We are confident that Dennis’ skills and 35 years of experience in operations from a global real estate firm, will help bring the Tri-State region’s operations to the next level,” Mirante stated. “His addition to our growing team will allow us to continue to expand, while ensuring that all internal and external operations are running smoothly for both our clients and employees.”
Waggner brings more than 35 years of operations experience to Avison Young, most recently as senior managing director of the New York, Tri-State and New England regions for Cushman & Wakefield. In his new role, Waggner will report to Mitti Liebersohn, Avison Young president & managing director of New York City Operations.

Waggner is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a BA in Business Administration. In addition to other honors and awards, Waggner was the two-time winner of the National Manager of the Year award and the George E. Lees Award at Cushman & Wakefield. Waggner also participates in a number of charities, and was a one of the top 10 individual fundraisers in New Jersey for the 2015 Special Olympics.

After entering the New York City market in 2012, Avison Young has rapidly expanded its New York City presence. Over the past seven years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 77 offices and from 300 to more than 2,200 real estate professionals across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
