Economy Watch Weekly: Black Friday Retail Sales Soar

Despite the many headlines talking about physical retail’s demise, brick-and-mortar stores seem to be holding strong, as evident by recent strong Black Friday sales numbers from Adobe Digital Insights and ShopperTrak. As expected, online sales were particularly robust, but foot traffic in physical stores decreased less than 1 percent from Black Friday 2016, which is good news for traditional retailers.
