Despite coming off of the best holiday sales season since 2011, the retail industry is still expected to face a wave of store closures in 2018. A record 12,000 retail stores could close this year, as certain retailers are at risk of going bankrupt, surpassing the expected 9,000 closures in 2017, according to Cushman & Wakefield Vice President Garrick Brown, speaking at a recent presentation.
