Exclusive: Kasselman to Head NGKF National Industrial Practice

Industry veteran of 26 years Geoffrey Kasselman has been tapped as an executive managing director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Chicago office, CPE has learned, leading the firm’s national industrial practice.
The co-founder of commercial real estate advisory firm Op2mize will strengthen NGKF’s industrial brokerage capabilities across North America and speed up its expansion to meet evolving client needs thanks to his extensive sustainability and technology experience.

Kasselman has served as president & CEO of Op2mize close to 10 years, where he provided comprehensive transaction and advisory services along with best practices in sustainability and technology. Earlier, he founded and directed Studley’s Industrial Services Group as senior managing director. He had also spent 10 years at Insignia/FC&S, moving to the position of managing director and vice president. He has more than 1,000 transactions under his belt valued at more than $1 billion. He’s worked with firms such as PepsiAmericas, Marriott Distribution Services, DHL, Cardinal Health, Charles Schwab, UPS Properties, IDI, CenterPoint Properties, Prologis and Liberty Propety Trust, among others.
“Geoff’s systematic approach to real estate goes beyond traditional bricks and mortar, by implementing customized client-centric solutions that improve operating efficiences and reduce related expenses,” said Michael Sheinkop, executive vice president, regional managing director, in a news release.
Kasselman will be the sole person responsible for this position, which was previously managed by a handful of people at the company, according to a NGKF spokesperson.
The industry veteran is a member of the National Real Estate Investor’s Sustainability Board of Advisors. He has received various awards and recognitions, including being named RealComm’s Top 35 People to Watch list five times.
