- Nov 03, 2016
Chicago—Choice Hotels International Inc., in partnership with Fillmore Capital Partners and Fillmore Hospitality, has converted the former MileNorth Hotel in Chicago into the 215-key Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile.
“I cannot think of a more perfect fit than Chicago to reflect our aggressively growing urban market offerings designed to better serve the needs of today’s traveler,” Janis Cannon, Choice Hotels senior vice president of upscale brands, said in a prepared release. “We are ecstatic to add Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile to our roster and proud that it marks the brand’s very first conversion.”
The Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile was designed to provide a unique and distinctive experience with the services and amenities that travelers demand, including a chic décor, standard rooms that feel like an upgrade, and free Wi-Fi, allowing guests to stay fully connected while they travel. The hotel also features one of the highest rooftop lounges in the city, 52Eighty, and approximately 4,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
Located at 166 E. Superior St., the 29-story Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile is situated between Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan. The property is within walking distance of Grant, Millennium and Lincoln Parks.
“We are thrilled to work with Choice Hotels to continue to develop the Cambria Chicago Magnificent Mile property,” Ron Silva, Fillmore Capital Partners president & CEO, said in the release. “This prime location is just one block from world-class attractions and Magnificent Mile shopping, as well as some of the country’s top industry headquarters.”
The city is home to a number of Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the region and the largest convention center in the nation, boasting a robust meetings and conventions industry. Nearby attractions include Millennium Park, the John Hancock Center, Skydeck Chicago and the Chicago Riverwalk.
Choice Hotels is also planning on opening a City Center Cambria hotel, which will be located above the historic Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre at 24 West Randolph St., and is slated to open in late 2017.
