Pennsylvania-based Smith Land & Improvement Corp., has announced executive leadership transitions, effective immediately. Richard Jordan II, the company’s president, CEO & chairman of the board since 1992, has promoted his son, Richard Jordan III, to president & CEO. Jordan II will retain the role of chairman of the board. Jordan III used to serve as COO.

“This transition reflects our solid growth as a corporation, confidence in the real estate outlook and our market position. Since he joined our team in 1994, he’s experienced an unprecedented and unpredicted range of economic cycles and this hands-on education has more than prepared him to lead our company into the next generation of service,” said Jordan II, in a prepared statement.

Looking ahead, Smith Land & Improvement Corp. will focus on attracting tenants in life sciences and retail, as well as redevelop and modernize their existing properties.
