bo parts GmbH, a supplier to the automotive industry and part of the FRIMO Group, plans to launch new operations in Greer, S.C. The new development is projected to bring $4.1 million of capital investment and create 100 new jobs over the next five years.

Located at 129 Metro Court in Greer, S.C., the 60,000-square-foot facility will be fewer than eight miles from Interstate 85 and approximately 12 miles from Greenville, S.C. Headquartered in Germany, bo parts specializes in small-batch production. The company provides tailor-made solutions and production of service parts, low-volume production parts, sample parts, prototypes and exotic parts.

An expanding industry

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved a $100,000 job development credit related to this project.

“With our new facility, we can continue the global growth of our business in the low-volume manufacturing of service and production parts for our automotive tier one and tier two customers. We are currently completing the launch of our first program for BMW and are in discussion on additional programs with several customers,” said FRIMO Group GmbH CEO Hans-Günter Bayer, in a prepared statement.

South Carolina’s automotive industry is expanding. Recently, another German supplier announced its intention to build a 234,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Summerville.
