Cushman & Wakefield announced on Wednesday that they have tapped Dwight Hotchkiss to serve as executive managing director of its U.S. Industrial platform.

Hotchkiss brings more than two decades of experience to the job, having specialized in industrial property types for institutional as well as corporate clients. He will be overseeing the operations and business development functions of the firm’s national business unit.

Previously Hotchkiss served as senior managing director and branch manager for Cushman & Wakefield’s downtown Los Angeles office, overseeing more than 200 employees. He has also worked as senior managing director of industrial services for Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial practice.

“We are delighted to draw on Dwight’s proven leadership capabilities and expertise as we look toward the future,” Cushman & Wakefield executive vice president of the U.S. Industrial Services group Jim Dieter said when announcing the news. “I have every confidence in Dwight’s ability to share, communicate, and leverage the vast resources and intellectual prominence of Cushman & Wakefield.”

When Hotchkiss was named senior managing director in 2007, Cushman & Wakefield executive managing director Mike McKiernan also expressed confidence in his leadership abilities. “He is respected leader with a passion for the business,” McKiernan said in a statement, “and the ideal person to lead us to new heights of accomplishment.”

A graduate of the University of Southern California, Hotchkiss serves on the executive committee of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp. and the board of directors at Homeboy Industries. In 2001, he was awarded the National Service Excellence Award.
