HVMG Appoints New Area General Manager of Winston-Salem Assets

Industry veteran Kevin Robert brings in over 16 years of experience with franchisors such as Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and IHG.

Winston-Salem, N.C.—Atlanta-based Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG) has announced the appointment of a new area general manager of the firm’s new acquisitions in the Twin City Quarter complex. Kevin Robert will transition HVMG into the Winston-Salem market and will manage all operations at the recently acquired 315-key Marriott, 147-key Embassy Suites and 100,000-square-foot Benton Convention Center.

Robert brings in more than 16 years of entrepreneurial hospitality, development, asset management and operations experience with franchisors such as Hilton, Marriott, Starwood and IHG, as well as with independent resort and boutique properties. Prior to HVMG, he held several general management roles, most recently serving as executive vice president of operations at Expotel Hospitality Services. Additional background experience includes positions such as president of operations at Five Points Hospitality and general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn – Arlington/Courthouse Plaza and Hilton Garden Inn in Tampa, Fla. During his time as partner & CEO of Pyramid Hospitality & Development, he successfully tripled corporate revenues and increased portfolio performance by 16 percent in room revenue and 19 percent GOP.

Robert studied business management at Louisiana State University and holds a certificate in hotel administration from Michigan State University.
