Hyatt Hotels Appoints CCO

Mark Vondrasek joined the company in September 2017 as executive vice president, having previously served Starwood for almost 15 years.

Hyatt Hotels Corp. has appointed Mark Vondrasek as chief commercial officer. He will continue to report to Mark Hoplamazian, the company’s president & CEO.

Vondrasek joined Hyatt in September 2017 as executive vice president & global head of loyalty and new business platforms. In his new position, he will continue to be responsible for Hyatt’s loyalty program and new growth platforms, alongside other tasks such as global sales, revenue management, distribution strategy, corporate marketing, communications, digital, consumer insights and global contact centers.

Hospitality veteran

Prior to joining Hyatt, the industry veteran worked for Starwood Hotels & Resorts for almost 15 years, most recently serving the company as senior vice president of commercial services. Vondrasek holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from University of St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business and an MBA in operations management and supervision from Loyola University Chicago.  

“Mark’s track record as a transformational leader, his past experience and recent success in accelerating the World of Hyatt loyalty program make him uniquely qualified for this role,” said Hoplamazian, in prepared remarks.

In addition, the company has named Jim Chu as global head of development and owner relations, and James Francque as head of transactions. The two executives have joined Hyatt roughly 14 and seven years ago, respectively.

In a recently announced high-profile deal, Hyatt is set to dispose of three of its assets in a $1 billion deal.
