Independence Realty Trust Aims High With New HQ

The firm moved its corporate offices to Philadelphia’s tallest skyscraper and currently occupies an entire suite at the recently refurbished Two Liberty Place.

Independence Realty Trust Inc. announced their move to Two Liberty Place, where it signed a deal for the entire 3575 suite. The owner, private investment firm Coretrust Capital Partners, was represented by CBRE’s Joseph McManus and Morgan Murray, Yardi Matrix data shows. The tenant leaves behind its offices at Philly’s Two Logan Square.

The property, located at 50 S. 16th St. in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, is the city’s tallest skyscraper and the 33rd tallest building in the U.S. According to Yardi Matrix, Two Liberty Place is a 957,000-square foot building encompassing 400,000 square feet of recently converted residential space and 13,000 square feet of retail space.

The 58-story tower was built in 1990 and it features a recently renovated entrance and lobbies, café, a lounge on each floor, multiple gyms with pool and spa, business center with conference rooms and on-site management. Additionally, it is connected to The Shops at Liberty Mall, an enclosed upscale mall and the 14-story Westin Philadelphia Hotel.

The Class A building is located in the heart of Philly’s historic downtown, overlooking Schuylkill and Delaware Rivers. It is also in close proximity to various restaurants, hotels, retailers and the city’s landmarks. Transportation is facilitated by neighboring bus stations Market Street & 16th Street and Chestnut Street &16th Street. Other Two Liberty Place tenants include Beazley Group, law firms Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and Eckert Seamans, Republic Bank and CBRE’s Philadelphia office.
