- Jun 30, 2015
Leading global industrial property group Goodman Group will be growing its extensive global relationship with DHL Supply Chain (DHL) in Australia, the integrated property group announced. The newly signed deal between the two entities targets 626,728 square feet of built-to-suit industrial space in Sydney.
Focusing on growth in the consumer, retail and healthcare sector, DHL contracted Goodman Group for the development of two built-to-suit industrial facilities in the Oakdale Industrial Estate, in Horsley Park, in western Sydney. The new structures will be adjacent to existing industrial space leased by DHL within Oakdale. The industrial park currently comprises four DHL-occupied, built-to-suit facilities. While the financial details of the lease have not been disclosed, the developer has disclosed a 10-year lease term for both structures.
Set to complete in May 2016, the two buildings will bring DHL’s footprint in Oakdale to a total of 1.6 million square feet across six assets. The first property will comprise 292,186 square feet of warehouse space, 12,916 square feet of office space and 151 parking spaces. The second property will add 317,320 square feet of warehouse space, 12,916 square feet of office space and 200 parking spaces. And 239,819 square feet will be climate controlled for the storage of pharmaceutical products.
Currently, Goodman’s and DHL’s relationship spans 29 properties across nine countries globally. In Australia DHL leases 2,716,606 square feet in Goodman assets.
