Arlington, Va.—Global hotel management player Interstate Hotels & Resorts recently announced the appointment of Michael Miner to senior vice president of operations. Miner will work directly with Interstate President & COO Ted Knighton and will focus his efforts on the New York region and other select markets.

Miner’s most recent position was SVP of operations with HEI Hotels & Resorts, which he held for almost a decade. During his time with HEI, he oversaw a diverse mix of assets, including Hilton, Marriott, IHG and Starwood. Prior to that role, he worked for The Kor Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, as managing director and area managing director, respectively. Miner is actually returning to the management company he started his career with, having worked as general manager for several of Interstate’s properties over the span of more than 10 years, between 1988 and 1998.

“Michael possesses remarkable talent, exceptional owner and brand relations, and deep operations experience that will be invaluable to leading the results for our full-service branded and independent hotels in New York City,” said Knighton in prepared remarks.
