New York—The Investors Bank Commercial Real Estate Lending Group has recently appointed Andrew Markey as senior vice president & team leader. Markey’s new responsibilities include developing new business with CRE companies in the New York and New Jersey areas, as well as building and reinforcing relationships with top real estate developers and property owners.
“Andrew will help enhance and strengthen our solid, experienced and highly capable CRE lending team,” Investors Bank Chief Lending Officer Richard Spengler said in a statement. “He possesses the expertise to structure and complete complicated CRE financing transactions.”
Markey joins Investors Bank from ConnectOne Bank, where he served as senior vice president & team leader in the CRE lending unit. Prior to that, Markey held senior-level CRE lending positions with Wells Fargo Bank, completing hundreds of commercial lending transactions in the 20 years he worked there.
Markey began his career as bank examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency—an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and an MBA from Rutgers University. Markey is also a member of NAIOP.
“His impressive talent in developing relationships with New Jersey’s top commercial real estate firms is critical for us to prudently grow our CRE lending portfolio,” added Spengler.
