New Seasons Market is coming to Public Market Emeryville, its first East Bay location. The latest addition to the Public Market is set to anchor the facility with a new 35,000-square-foot store.

The leasing agreement that brought the Portland, Ore.-based grocery chain was completed by Lockehouse Retail Group on behalf of New Seasons and landlord City Center Realty Partners. The new store will open during the second half of 2017.

Public Market Emeryville announced the addition of New Seasons soon after bringing in two popular dining spots to its Food Hall. Local food truck businesses We Sushi and Mayo & Mustard will occupy two of the available 19 food stalls at the development.

The retail tenant lineup features such brands as HOT ITALIAN, Peet’s Coffee, Urban Outfitters and Guitar Center. The property is undergoing an extensive renovation of its Food Hall, as well as a 43,000-square-foot expansion, street upgrades, and improvements to its nearby park. Current plans also call for the development of a 450-unit housing element.

The new grocery store will join New Seasons’ network, which currently consists of 17 stores in Oregon, a new San Jose location, as well as five New Leaf Community Markets across Northern California.
