JLL to Lease, Market NY Bioscience Park

The firm will handle the leasing and marketing for Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, a 62,000-square-foot biotechnology research facility located in Farmingdale, N.Y., which provides affordable leasing space to biotech companies through tax-incentive programs.

Broad Hollow Bioscience Park Inc. has selected JLL to oversee the leasing and marketing of its Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, a biotechnology research facility situated on Farmingdale State College Campus on Long Island. The building is owned by a partnership comprising the college, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Stony Brook University and the Research Foundation for The State University of New York, and aims to offer biotech companies affordable lease rates through tax-incentive programs.

The leasing team comprises Executive Vice President Raymond Ruiz, Senior Vice President Doug Omstrom, Vice President Marianne Dugan and Brokerage Coordinator Rosa Buckley. They will be assisted by Broad Hollow Bioscience Park Executive Director Greg Blyskal.

High-end lab space 

Located at 1 Bioscience Park Drive in Farmingdale, the 62,000-square-foot property encompasses 42,000 square feet of laboratory space, 12,000 square feet of office space and 4,000 square feet of lobby and meeting rooms. It was also renovated in 2002 and features:

  • A 9-acre expansion option;
  • Fume hoods;
  • Walk-in cold and warm rooms and an autoclave;
  • Glass washers;
  • Brooks computerized plate storage system;
  • Pilot manufacturing room for pills;
  • UPS backup for data and automated compound storage system;
  • Compressors for air and vacuum to labs;
  • Two back-up generators;
  • One loading dock;
  • Men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers;
  • 94 parking spaces; and
  • Sewer connection

     

    Neighborhood amenities include hotels, retailers, restaurants, two residential complexes, an amusement park and multiple medical facilities.

    The facility is unlike any other building on Long Island, offering a centralized location, easy access to public transportation and Manhattan, and state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratory equipment. The space presents a terrific opportunity for a long-term tenant with a strategic vision in bioscience/biopharma,” Ruiz said in a prepared statement.
