Financial and professional services firm Jones Lang LaSalle is continuing its Canadian expansion. Its latest office is slated to open Jan. 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

According to JLL Canada head Jim Becker, it is vital to have a presence in Vancouver in order to service clients and continue to develop a client base in the country. He added that Vancouver itself is a critical market.

Ray Ahrens will serve as executive vice president for the Vancouver operations, while Norm Taylor and Gavin Reynolds will serve as senior vice presidents. The three bring more than half a century of experience to the table in addition to a transaction volume in excess of $800 million. Ahrens has worked in office leasing, investment sales and tenant representation for the last 30 years, while Taylor brings 14 years of industry experience as a multi-market office leasing specialist. Reynolds has also served as an office leasing specialist for national regional clients for the past nine years.

Last year, JLL expanded into Ottawa. It has operated in Canada for the last decade, with headquarters in Toronto and other offices in Mississauga and Montreal.
