Jones Lang LaSalle has been named the exclusive leasing agent for Liberty Wharf, a $43 million, 74,000 square foot mixed-use development on the South Boston Waterfront.
Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, Liberty Wharf comprises a two-story, 18,000 square foot restaurant with a roof deck, a 50,000 square foot building with two full floors of specialty Class A office space above two floors of smaller restaurants, and a kiosk building with deck dining. It is sited between the Fish Pier and the Bank of America Pavilion at the former site of Jimmy’s Harborside restaurant.
When fully built out, it will include Legal Sea Foods’ flagship restaurant, a contemporary steakhouse occupied by the Tavistock Group, street-level restaurants, and significant open space along the Boston Harbor. It will also include an approximately 570-foot extension of the Boston HarborWalk, more than 500 linear feet of dock space, and new public access connecting the harbor with surrounding landmarks. With energy- and water-conserving features, Liberty Wharf is also LEED certifiable.
The project is nearing shell completion and is on schedule to begin restaurant buildout in the second quarter of this year. Construction is being spearheaded by Cresset Development, a Boston-based firm with more than $1.9 billion in real estate investments.
“Liberty Wharf complements the Seaport District and Greater Boston as a destination and amenity built on the harbor,” Cresset president Edward Nardi said in a statement.
The project is also heralded as bringing the Seaport district to life. In a statement, Jones Lang LaSalle managing director Bill Motley said, “Liberty Wharf is unique in Boston. … The prestige project is much more than a quality mixed-use waterfront development. It will bring a new dynamic to the seaport neighborhood. It truly creates a new standard for the city.”
