Julia Coronado Joins the MTGE Board

Currently chief economist for Graham Capital Management, Coronado brings several years of financial services industry experience to the board.

New York—MTGE Investment Corp., a Bethesda, Md.-based hybrid mortgage REIT, recently announced that its board has added Julia Coronado, effective immediately. Coronado will serve as an independent director on the company’s Audit and Compensation and Corporate Governance committees.

Coronado currently serves as the chief economist for Graham Capital Management, an alternative investment firm. She is responsible for formulating the company’s global forecast for inflation and monetary and fiscal policy, and also serves on the Investment and Risk committees. Prior to joining Graham Capital, Coronado was chief economist, North America, and managing director at BNP Paribas from 2009 to 2014.

In addition to her work at Graham Capital, Coronado is currently a member of the New York Federal Reserve’s Treasury Market Practice Group and Economic Advisory Panel and also serves on the Brookings Economic Studies Council. Coronado holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

MTGE’s board now consists of four members, including three independent directors.
