Kidder Mathews has hired Robert D’Elia as vice president in the Redwood Shores, Calif., office. D’Elia’s expertise has focused on life science property projects and he has been involved in every development stage, from design and procurement to engineering, construction, startup and facility validation to obtaining FDA approvals.

D’Elia is also an experienced analyst, particularly in matching client scientific infrastructure requirements with facility requirements. His analytical skills encompass economic indicators, tax structures, cost and availability of labor, cost of construction, accessibility, as well as logistics and distribution channels. During his career, he has been involved in life science construction projects totaling more than 2.5 million square feet and worth $370 million.

D’Elia has more than 40 years of biopharmaceutical experience. His previous positions include president & owner of Ypex Technologies LLC, vice president of life sciences with Integrated Engineering Services and senior manager with Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal. D’Elia earned a Bachelor of Science in business management and an MBA from California Coast University.
