Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants plans to expand its footprint in Southern California with a 200-key hotel in Garden Grove. The project, developed by SCG America Group, is slated for completion by 2021.

The new mixed-use project is slated to occupy five acres along Harbor Boulevard, within Grove District Anaheim Resort and, in addition to the four-star hotel, is set to feature retail stores and restaurants. Notable neighbors include Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium and Honda Center.

Hotel amenities will include 10,000 square feet of meeting space, two restaurants, a rooftop pool and lounge. Ave Bradley, global senior vice president of design at Kimpton, in partnership with SCG America’s selected team consisting of Friedmutter Group and Archilier Architecture, will represent Kimpton in the hotel’s design and architecture.

Last year, the Kimpton brand made its debut in Europe with a 274-key hotel in the heart of Amsterdam.
