Lee & Associates has appointed Mitchell Salmon as its newest executive managing director. In his new role, Salmon will be responsible for retail and office leasing for the New York City area, as well as asset management and acquisitions.
Prior to joining the firm, Salmon served as managing director at Garrison Investment Group, where he was responsible for the management of a $4 billion retail portfolio and contributed to the firm’s portfolio growth. He was also responsible for managing more than 100 employees, including internal teams, on-site property staffs and all forms of third-party vendors.
Between 1995 and 2011, he worked as senior vice president at Mall Properties (now Olshan Properties), where he oversaw a 6.5 million-square-foot commercial portfolio. He also served as vice president at Lucille Roberts Health Clubs from 1989 to 1995. Salmon’s client portfolio includes national tenants such as Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, LA Fitness, Crate & Barrel, Chipotle and Lowe’s Home Improvements, to name a few.
“Mitch’s extensive experience encompasses landlord and tenant representation, commercial sales and leasing and property acquisition,” Lee & Associates Chief Operating Officer Joel Herskowit said in a prepared statement. “He has an impressive understanding of local and national markets and we regard him as an outstanding addition to our team.”
The newly appointed executive holds a B.S. in economics and public policy and management from Carnegie-Mellon University. Additionally, he is a licensed real estate broker in New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
