Seattle—Skanska USA Commercial Development has announced the promotion of Murphy McCullough to executive vice president & regional manager for commercial development operations in the company’s Seattle office. In his new position, McCullough will oversee all development operations, from land acquisition to divestment processes.
McCullough holds more than 24 years of experience in the field and has been with Skanska since 2011, when he came on board as vice president for development. Since then, he has helped deliver the company’s first projects in the Greater Seattle region, including the urban-inspired apartments at Alley 111 in Bellevue, the Brooks Sports headquarters and flagship store at Stone34 in Fremont, and Tommy Bahama’s headquarters at 400 Fairview in South Lake Union.
In his new role, McCullough will lead Skanska’s next development project dubbed 2+U, a 38-story office tower located at Second Avenue and University Street in Seattle. The tower will offer 18,500 square feet of retail space and 30,000 square feet of covered outdoor public space underneath 665,000 square feet of office space.
Prior to working for Skanska, McCullough worked on several large-scale developments in the city such as Fourth & Madison, a 40-story Class A office project, and Harbor Steps, a mixed-use development comprising two residential towers with retail, hotel and a civic urban park.
McCullough is chair of the City of Seattle’s Downtown Design Review Board and an active member of the Downtown Seattle Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management and a Commercial Real Estate and Development Certification from the University of Washington.
