NAIOP Arizona Appoints Chairman of the Board

In his new role, Andrew Cheney will contribute to the organization’s 2018 mission to provide educational opportunities, oversee public legislature initiatives and promote networking events. He will also support NAIOP’s Developing Leaders program, which he helped found.

NAIOP Arizona has chosen Principal Andrew Cheney of Lee & Associates to serve as the organization’s 2018 chairman of the board. Andrew joined NAIOP in 2003 and served on the board since 2012.

He will contribute to the board’s 2018 mission to provide educational opportunities, oversee public legislature initiatives and promote networking events. Cheney will also provide support to NAIOP’s Developing Leaders program, which he helped found.

On the public policy front, we will continue to increase our influence and be the primary voice for commercial real estate at the state legislature, working for legislation that decreases costs and makes Arizona a prime location for new and expanding businesses,” said Cheney in a prepared statement.

Swift rise

Specializing in office sales and leasing, Andrew Cheney has been an employee at Lee & Associates Arizona for 15 years and he is the fastest Associate to become Principal in the firm’s history. At Lee & Associates, he founded the Coppola-Cheney Group. He is also one of the few people to hold CCIM, SIOR and CRE designations.

Cheney has co-chaired various NAIOP events and earned numerous accolades, such as 2016 NAIOP Arizona Chapter Principal Member of the Year, 2013 Class 40 Under 40 by Phoenix Business Journal, 2011 NAIOP National Developing Leader of the Year and 2010 NAIOP Arizona Chapter Emerging Broker of the Year. Andrew Cheney holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
