InterContinental Hotels Group is expanding in Baltimore. The UK-based company recently announced the opening of its first property under the Hotel Indigo brand in the state of Maryland.
The new Hotel Indigo Baltimore – Mt. Vernon is located at 24 West Franklin St., in the city’s Mt. Vernon neighborhood. This location places it right in the heart of Downtown Baltimore’s Historic and Cultural Districts.
The property is housed in a historic building, which was once also home to the city’s first YMCA. It has 162 guestrooms, with 112 different floor plans and five bi-level suites. Additional amenities include a fitness center, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, and a Poets Modern Cocktails & Eats restaurant and bar.
MVH Baltimore, LLC owns the Hotel Indigo Baltimore – Mt. Vernon. It has hired Chesapeake Hospitality to manage the property.
The Hotel Indigo Baltimore – Mt. Vernon is just the latest of several new hotels that have opened their doors to the public in the Greater Baltimore area in the last several months. The Inner Harbor received its first Hyatt Place last December, the Wyndham Hotel Group opened a new hotel in Hunt Valley in January, and a new Radisson opened in Timonium this March. Developers are working on other projects as well. Red Lion Hotels Corp. purchased Baltimore’s historic Keyser Building at the end of last year with the intention to reopen it as a Hotel RL,, and in March Sagamore Development Company and the City of Baltimore celebrated the groundbreaking for a new luxury hotel on the historic Fells Point waterfront.
