New Hilton to Open in Prestigious Georgetown Neighborhood in May

A new hotel is coming to the District. The Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Georgetown Area will open in the high-end Georgetown neighborhood this May. OTO Development partnered with Starwood Capital and Perseus Realty to develop the hotel.

A new hotel is coming to the District. The Hilton Garden Inn Washington, D.C./Georgetown Area will open in the high-end Georgetown neighborhood this May. OTO Development partnered with Starwood Capital and Perseus Realty to develop the hotel.

The new Hilton Garden Inn Washington, D.C./Georgetown Area is a 238-room hotel situated in the West End of downtown Washington. Its location places it close to upscale shopping, numerous restaurants and popular attractions like the U.S. Capitol Building and the White House. Amenities include free WiFi, an outdoor rooftop pool, a 24-hour fitness center and a garden terrace. The hotel also features a Cafe Deluxe American bistro, as well as 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a sky-lit ballroom and a complimentary business center.

Work on the hotel started in 2012. Its design uses high-end, modern finishes that complement the classical architecture of the surrounding buildings. The project transformed a lot that was empty for five years into a new gathering place for both locals and tourists. The cost of the project was not disclosed; however, the developers did announce their intention to pursue LEED Silver certification for the new hotel.
