New Tower at Omni Barton Creek Tops Out
- Aug 07, 2018
Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa has topped out on the facility’s new guestroom tower, marking a significant milestone in the $150 million transformation of the hospitality asset. The high-rise will be a signature feature at the resort’s reopening in May 2019.
“The evolution of Omni Barton Creek is our most highly anticipated project to debut in 2019,” added Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Upon completion, Omni Barton Creek will be a mecca for relaxation, golf, culinary and meeting and event experiences.”
The Beck Group, headquartered in Dallas, leads the design and construction efforts. The project comprises a new tower with a wrap-around porch, a fireplace, a casual lobby bar lounge and a new multi-tiered pool deck with an infinity pool overlooking the Fazio Foothills golf course; 180 luxury guestrooms, including 50 suites with floor-to-ceiling windows; seven new dining experiences throughout the resort; a new conference center, a ballroom and outdoor events pavilion; as well as Canyons Clubhouse—a new golf clubhouse which opened in 2018; a new 13,000-square-foot Mokara Spa and wellness center; expanded poolscapes; and a new tennis complex. Moreover, all existing guestrooms and meeting spaces had their décor and design updated.
“We are pleased to be working well ahead of schedule in order to allow the new Omni Barton Creek to open and welcome guests in May 2019, a beautiful time of year to visit Austin,” Bryan Smith, regional general superintendent for The Beck Group, said in prepared remarks. “The Beck Group is both designing and building the new Omni Barton Creek, which keeps construction moving at an accelerated pace. The new tower and conference center’s view of and connection to the surrounding Hill Country is central to the design of the resort.”
