Uptown Charlotte is getting a new office tower, as Levine Properties recently announced the planning of a 20-story business building. According to the Charlotte Observer, the property will be adjacent to UNC Charlotte’s center city building in First Ward.
The new tower will be a 325,000-square-foot building located at 300 E 9th St. Levine Properties is looking for an anchor tenant starting in the fall before beginning construction. LS3P Architecture is in charge of designing the new office building.
The development plans for the office building come as the last piece in the overhaul of Charlotte’s First Ward. Plans for First Ward’s new future include apartments, hotels, office space and a grand park. The 24-acre property is planned to offer 1,500 apartments, 450 hotel rooms and 1.5 million square feet of office and retail space.
Ryan Clutter, senior managing director of HFF’s Charlotte office, was assigned as broker for a 3.7-acre parcel called Block 42.
