New Wood Partners Project to Be Set in Washington Corridor
- May 06, 2012
Following the late February groundbreaking of the luxury Alta Woodlake Square community in Houston’s Westchase District, developer Wood Partners L.L.C. is now eyeing the Washington Corridor for its newest project.
According to Todd Gaines, Wood Partners’ South Texas developer, the company’s choice of location is based on the positive transformation of the city’s Washington Corridor: “It is incredible to see how vibrant Washington Avenue has become in the last five years. What used to be a fairly industrial part of town is now an entertainment hub for the city and home to an impressive group of locally owned retail stores, nightclubs and restaurants,” said Gaines. “In addition to being walking distance from some of the best dining and entertainment in town, the site is also five minutes from Downtown, Memorial Park, Eleanor Tinsley Park and River Oaks. We think our residents will love living so close to work and play,” he added.
Set at 145 Heights Blvd., the four-story Alta Heights community will consist of 256 units on 3.5 acres and will break ground later this month. Designed by Womack + Hampton, it is expected to be completed by October 2013, with the first units available in May 2013. The one- and two-bedroom units will feature amenities such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, under-mount sinks, subway tile backsplashes, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen and living areas, washer/dryers in each unit, and garden tubs and showers in select units. Approximately half of the units come with a technology package including an in-wall iPod docking station at the entry and speakers mounted in the living room.
Highlights of the community’s common areas include a courtyard with pool, barbecue grills, an outdoor kitchen with TV, a second courtyard with water fountain and grill, a fitness center, a leasing office, and a club room with kitchen and bar areas.
