Irvine, Calif. and Silicon Valley, Calif.—Online real estate marketplace Ten-X (formerly Auction.com) recently announced that Executive Vice President Rick Sharga has been promoted to the position of chief marketing officer. The newly appointed CMO will be in charge of branding, marketing, and corporate communications for the recently rebranded online service.

In a prepared statement, Ten-X CEO Tim Morse outlines the context of this recent in-house move: “Rick Sharga’s insight and expertise will be crucial as we prepare to launch game-changing technology that attracts and empowers a much broader audience … The company has already benefited immensely from Rick’s leadership and vision over the past two and a half years, and we look forward to fully leveraging his capabilities in the role of chief marketing officer.”

Before joining the company in 2013, Sharga held top positions with Carrington Holding Co. and RealtyTrac, serving as executive vice president for the former and senior vice president of marketing for the latter. Prior to this, he spent two decades planning and running sales and marketing programs for a handful of big names, including Fujitsu, Hitachi, Toshiba, Tickets.com, and Pizza Hut.

Sharga is a preeminent figure in the real estate field, having been recently included on Inman News’ Inman 100 list two years in a row and having been awarded a Stevie® Award for National Marketing Executive of the Year while working for RealtyTrac.
